Dear Staff,
The Benefits Committee met several times this school year to evaluate the vision insurance plan that is offered to the employees of the Riverview School District. Below is a link to the “Vision Plan Analysis” which compares the current district plan (Northwest Benefit Network) with two other WEA plans (Premera Plan A and VSP Plan C).
In addition to the benefit analysis, a “Vision Plan Field Test” (also see link below) was conducted at a network provider to demonstrate the out-of-pocket expenses you could expect to pay for a typical exam and a pair of new glasses. I think that you will find the results surprising.
During the next month, select members of the Committee will be conducting informational meetings at various buildings throughout the district to answer your questions about the analysis. Please consider yourself invited. The dates and locations these meetings will be posted soon.
Following all of the informational meetings, a web based vote will be conducted to determine the insurance plan of choice for the district starting in October, 2008.
