PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for planning, implementing and evaluating a variety of learning experiences for students in cooperation with other staff  members.  Perform all assigned duties and responsibilities consistent with state regulations, district policies and procedures and building practices.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.   Implements state essential learnings and district standards

2.   Demonstrates knowledge of subject matter and competency in instructional practices

3.   Informs students of their progress in terms of objectives set for the lesson or study course, handles student discipline and attendance problems

4.   Evaluates in terms of planned goals and revises instruction as a result of the evaluation, makes long and short range plans for each subject area of instruction

5.   Provides for individual differences in the learning needs of students, provides a classroom climate which is based upon mutual respect, rapport, fairness and consistency

6.   Interacts positively with students, professional associates, parents, and patrons of the school district

7.   Participates in staff development activities

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.   Hold a valid Washington State teaching certificate for the elementary level; if certificate is endorsed, endorsement must be for the subject(s) taught; out of state candidates must meet Washington State requirements

2.      Experience teaching at the primary level

 

REQUIREMENTS:

1.   All District employees shall undergo a criminal records check, including a fingerprint check by both the State Patrol and FBI.

2.   All District employees shall sign an Authorization and Release of Information form relating to prior school district employment.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

WORK HOURS/DAYS:        7 hrs, 30 min (includes 30 minute duty-free lunch); 1 day per week

SALARY:                               Certificated salary schedule for 2008-2009

BENEFITS:                            District provides a pro-rata FTE share of state insurance benefit entitlement to go towards payment of premiums for medical, dental, vision, and long-term disability insurance
