PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the direction of the maintenance/operations supervisor and the building principal, provides for routine plumbing, electrical, floor and equipment maintenance; general building repairs and painting; heating system control; cleaning and trash removal; receipt and distribution of supplies.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

I.       Maintains plumbing, electrical systems, floors and equipment, carries out routine maintenance and repair of plumbing, electrical systems, floors and equipment

1.      Conducts preventive maintenance and repairs to plumbing and electrical systems and equipment

2.      Maintains carpets and other floor surfaces by shampooing, stripping and waxing

II.      Carries out routine building repairs and maintenance

1.      Makes general building repairs requiring carpentry, masonry and painting

2.      Paints interior and exterior of the building

3.      Performs other duties as directed

III.     Monitors heating system control

          1.     Checks operation of building heating system

          2.     Monitors room and hall temperatures throughout the building

IV.     Cleans and removes trash

          1.     Cleans room, portable, offices, restrooms and other areas as assigned

          2.     Removes trash from all areas and deposits in dumpster

V.      Receives and distributes supplies

          1.     Receives supplies, verifies packing slips and stores in designed areas

          2.     Distributes supplies as requested

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.      Knowledge of maintenance functions related to electrical, plumbing, heating and general equipment

2.      Possession of carpentry and painting skills sufficient to complete repairs and light remodeling

3.      Ability to lift up to 100 pounds on occasion and move furniture and equipment as needed

4.      Ability to operate various equipment such as carpet shampoo machine, high speed buffer, power lifts and power hand tools

5.      Valid Washington State driver's license

 


 

REQUIREMENTS:

1.            All District employees shall undergo a criminal records check, including a fingerprint check by both the State Patrol and FBI.

2.            All District employees shall sign an Authorization and Release of Information form relating to prior school district employment.                                                                   

 

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Work Year:      260 days/annual

Work Day:       8 hrs/day

Salary:              $15.32/hour (Based on Step 1 of the 2007-2008 PSE Salary Schedule)

Benefits:           District provides a pro-rata FTE share of state insurance benefit entitlement to go towards payment of premiums for dental, vision, medical insurances
