ERMA
2004-2005 Brangwin High Tea
ERMA is introducing the Brangwin High Tea this next year at our
school. Students are given a list of 25 books to choose from. These
books are chosen as nominees from the Sasquatch Reading Award
book nominees of the Washington Library Media Association and from
the Young Readers Choice Award Nominees in association with the
Pacific Northwest Library Association. Once a student has earned
enough points by reading, writing or participating in discussions
about the books they then qualify to attend a book themed, High
Tea. After qualifying they may then invite an author to attend
with them. Local authors like David Patneaude and Dave Ross
have attended other High Teas in our school district. Family members
who wish to attend the High Tea may do so only if they qualify
as well, or if they volunteer to help serve. The contest starts
on the first day of this year’s summer vacation (June 19th).
You can check out these books at our local Duvall Library and our
school will have a couple of sets to check out once school starts
this fall. Fawn Ashby also has these books and would be willing
to lend them out over short periods during this summer. Contact
her at (425) 844-4109 or erik.ashby@ashbys.net.
This is a wonderful way to read this summer and earn points to
attend an amazing and really fun High Tea.
