Celebrations
Health
If your child is ill to the extent that it will be difficult for
him or her to participate in the activities of a normal day, it
is best to keep your child home. If your child becomes ill while
at school or receives an injury that requires further medical attention,
you will be notified immediately.
As a general rule, if your child
has a temperature of 100 degrees or above, we will call. We will
also call with the following:
- temperature of 100° F or more
- vomiting or diarrhea
- what appears to be pink eye, with or without drainage, until
treated
- body rash especially with a fever
- lice, lice eggs, or scabies until treated. We have a nit free
policy.
- chronic cough
- injury that needs a medical opinion
Please be sure to notify
the school if your child will be absent. For more information,
please review our attendance policy.
Medication
Students who must take medication, either prescription or over-the-counter,
must provide written instructions and a signature from their physician
and parent/guardian on the District
Medication Authorization form. A copy of the form can be picked
up in the office. All medication will be stored in the office.
Telephones
Telephones are available for student use in the event of an emergency
or at the teacher's request. Students should know their daily routine
and what is expected of them after school. Plans to visit another
home need to be made before coming to school in the morning.
Lost and Found
Please mark your child's name on items such as coats, boots, gloves,
hats, lunch boxes, and backpacks. When found, we will try to return
items to the owners.
All lost and found clothing items will be placed on the deck.
Small items and belongings will be placed in the office for safe
keeping until claimed.
All items not claimed will be donated to the clothing bank at
the end of each trimester. Before they are donated, parents will
be reminded to claim any lost items.
Toys at School
Toys of any kind are not permitted at school. Items for Show and
Tell may be brought to school, kept in the child's backpack and
removed for sharing. Other items brought to school will be confiscated
and returned to the child's parent at a later date.
Birthday Celebrations
We will be celebrating your child's special day in a variety of
ways, both in the classroom, and as a whole school community. So
we ask you to not send sweets or treats on your child's birthday.
Individual classroom teachers also have
special traditions and events planned to honor each and every child's
special day.
If you are having a party for your child away from school, please
mail all invitation as we do not allow them to be passed out at
school.
