As an Eagle Rock Multi-Age parent, you have committed to actively participate in your child's education in several specific ways.
60 Hours of Volunteer Time
As a family, you have committed to volunteer 60 hours per family, per school year. This commitment can be met in a variety of ways in the classroom or off-site.
Participation in Eagle Rock Activities
- All parents of Eagle Rock students encouraged to join the Eagle Rock PTA. We encourage all parents to attend monthly meetings ran by the elected executive board in order to be informed of the Parent Teacher Association activities and participate in its decision making.
- There are a number of committees with a variety of needs available for parents to choose from.
- There may be Parent Meetings during the school year, scheduled for information or educational purposes.
- Eagle Rock typically holds at least one fundraiser during the school year and the more enthusiastic participation, the more successful the fundraiser.
Confidentiality
As an Eagle Rock school volunteer, you will become aware of issues and information of a personal nature. Please follow these basic Rules of Confidentiality when dealing with information on students, families, staff, and other volunteers.
- Do not disclose confidential information publicly.
- Anything seen or heard while volunteering on or off campus should not be shared with others.
- Discuss information with appropriate school professionals only.
Health and Safety Guidelines
As a school volunteer working with children, you have committed to following health and safety guidelines for you own and the children's safety. As we strive to provide a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for students, staff, and volunteers, use your best judgment at all times when working with students. Treat students as you would wish to be treated with dignity, care, and respect. If you observe an incident related to discrimination, harassment, or bullying, please report it promptly to a staff member. Teachers and staff are mandated reporters of abuse and neglect. Please refer to "Safe Interactions with Students" for more specific guidelines.
