Eagle Rock Multi-Age Program
What Is Special About Us
ERMA School

What Is Special About Us

We are in the business of enhancing lives.

We are a K-5 multi-age school.

  • Learning Centers
  • Flexible grouping
  • Teachers plan themes and lessons together
  • Field trips, assemblies, lunch and recess are K-5
  • School-wide activities such as reading challenges, Academic Contest for Excellence (ACE) contests and all school birthday parties.
  • Our school is nestled in the woods which provides natural beauty as well as outdoor educational opportunities .
    • Nature trail
    • Outdoor classroom
    • Children's garden

We enroll entire families, including the parents and extended family. Families volunteer at least sixty hours a year of service to the program.

Parent support allows for continual improvement of our program.

  • Reforestation grant
  • Art classes offered by trained art docents
  • Library - establishing school library and planning library time
  • Classroom assistance - small groups, large groups and center time
  • Office assistance- attendance, phones and copies
  • Health - lice, vision, hearing and scoliosis check
  • Lunch monitoring and dismissing students
  • Fundraising to provide more teacher and student opportunities such as Camp Orkila, staff development, classroom materials and site improvement.
  • Committees such as emergency preparedness, library, yearbook, garden, and technology.

Goals We Have Accomplished

  • Infuse technology into the curriculum
  • Update and maintain our program web site
  • Make all day kindergarten a smoother transition for students by hosting a summertime gathering
  • Have administration on-site
  • Plan field trips and guest speakers ahead of time to match curriculum themes for the year
  • Use the strengths, talents and skills of the staff to meet the needs of our students
  • Develop an emergency plan
  • Increase planning time for Eagle Rock teachers, preferably by offering music, library and year-round P. E.

Where We Want To Be

  • Continue to function as a separate program at our current location.
  • Increase the amount of instructional time at our school equal to or greater than the other RSD elementary schools.
  • Purchase a math and writing curriculum that meets the state standards and is multi-age friendly.
  • Provide a well-equipped computer lab for student use that would include computers, software, printers, scanner and a digital camera.
  • Supply part-time staff to help out in office and health room during busiest part of day.
  • Level recess area, add topsoil and plant grass for student playing field.
