2003 - 2004 Year in Review

Thank You Nestle!Nestle Farms Field Trip

What a great time the kids had at Nestle Farms on Monday, June 14. The K/1 class made chocolate chip cookies and played while the 2/3 class watched birds and the 4/5 class went hiking. We then gathered for lunch. On behalf of ERMA the 5th graders presented the Nestle employees with a gift for all of their support. After lunch our students went on a treasure hunt, played with puppies, and watched a dog show. It was a fun-filled day.

Moving Up - Congratulations!Moving Up - Class of 2004

What a great way to end the school year. The Eagle Rock Class of 2004 is super! We will miss you next year. The ceremony included a gift of a wooden bench from the 5th graders to Eagle Rock. This is Mrs. Taylor's first graduating class. Way to go!

ERMA would like to also thank CHS's Horticultural Class. They assisted with the balloons! Please keep them in mind for your floral and balloon bouquet needs.

Square Foot Backyard PresentationsSquare Foot Backyard Presentations

The kids did a great job presenting their 4+ month long Square Foot Backyard project on June 10. Every presentation was well laid out. Some were even done in PowerPoint. What a great way for the younger kids to see what the older kids can do given the same directions.

High Tea at ERMA

ERMA is introducing the Brangwin High Tea for the 2004 - 2005 school year. Students choose and read at least 10 books of the High Tea Book List. These books are chosen as nominees from the Sasquatch Reading Award book nominees of the Washington Library Media Association and from the Young Readers Choice Award Nominees in association with the Pacific Northwest Library Association.

Family Surprise Night

Reading with ParentsWow, what a difference a year makes. Well, actually nine months. Mrs. Taylor's class prepared a night full of activities on June 1 to showcase their work. The kids made bread and used honey from the bees in their classroom as a snack. It was great. The kids read books, talked about their favoriteLooking at some great work! science kits, played math games, and many other activities.

The kids had a great time painting the inside of the bottles with bright colors. They were all very cute! Our finished fish!Thank you Grandma Aitken for sharing this wonderful art project.

Be sure to stop by the District Office in June! All month ERMA will be displaying the Fish and other work our kids have done.

Kids See Snoqulamie Falls through Native Eyes

Snoqualmie FallsOn May 20, ERMA students visited Snoqualmie Falls and were allowed to go down in front of the falls and experience smudging and stories from Roger Fernandes. Read the entire story in our May Newsletter.

Last Volunteer Academy Session Held

Volunteer Academy - ERMA JeopardyThe last session was held on May 26, 2004. We played ERMA Jeopardy. Some teams did better than others. But fun was had by all. Wow, did we learn a lot from attending the sessions. Thank you to the Staff for taking the time to help the parents with volunteering at ERMA. The parents are all ready to volunteer next year. What a great place to be!
