Transportation Vehicle Fund Levy
2011 $250,000 $0.08/$1000 assessed valuation
2012 $250,000 $0.08/$1000 assessed valuation
This levy, over two years, will generate
enough revenue together with the state reimbursement to keep the fleet
up-to-date for a ten-year period.
The district has a fleet of 41 buses, one
quarter of which are fully depreciated. Fully depreciated buses generate nothing from
the state.
Buses that are being depreciated generate
state revenue that is used to replace buses.
The plan is to purchase 23 new buses over
a ten-year period.
The $500,000 of levy revenue
represents only 17% of the estimated $2,894,800 needed to purchase the 23 new buses.
