Jane Brammer Receives 2007 WASA Community Recognition Award
District parent Jane Brammer (shown here with Stephen Nielsen, President Elect of WASA-Metro Region and Conrad Robertson, Riverview Superintendent ), was recently honored at a Washington Association of School Administrators' (WASA) luncheon for her service to the Riverview School District as an outstanding community volunteer.
As Mr. Robertson wrote:
"Jane Brammer's active volunteer life began at Cherry Valley Elementary in 1989 and she's still going strong as PTSA President of Cedarcrest High School.
Jane was highly involved in establishing R.H.Y.T.H.M. (Riverview Helping Youth to Have Music) fund-raising and support organization for the district's music programs. Since then, RHYTHM has successfully raised funds to establish scholarship programs, brought in professional musicians to perform for students, integrated music appreciation in the district, and maximized the musical opportunities for all students. Jane is also an accomplished musician herself.
Other district and community volunteer involvements included Alcohol and Substance Abuse Prevention, Rivervisions 2000, Disaster Preparedness Committee, Riverview Schools Committee, and Little League Baseball and Football.
She leads by example, with a wonderfully kind heart, a positive attitude, and is always lifting people up with thanks for their efforts and making sure that their time and dedication are acknowledged.
Jane gives the PTSA and Riverview School District a very positive reputation, through her contagious spirit, respect for staff, and dedication to students. She is extremely deserving of this award."
