Budget Advisory Committee | 2005-2006 Plan - October, 2005
Mission :
The Riverview School District Budget Advisory Committee was established as part of the Board of Directors Strategic Plan. The Budget Advisory Committee shall be open for community, parent, staff and administrative involvement. District administration, the Riverview Educational Association, the Public School Employees Association, the Parent Teachers Associations, the Riverview Educational Foundation and representatives of the business community to work collaboratively to support the distribution of the necessary resources to reach its goals. The Budget Advisory Committee accepts the district's financial goals as set by the Board of Directors and the adopted Strategic Plan.
Tasks:
The Committee will:
- review the 2004-2005 ending fund balance.
- review the 2005-2006 budget projections.
- both collectively and individually be part of a creative process that formulates ideas that may result in resource enhancements or in the redirection of resources.
- after Board of Directors consultation, have the identified ideas researched and evaluated.
- help prioritize the appropriate and feasible ideas in the form of recommendations to the Superintendent for inclusion in the 2006-2007 operating budget.
- as part of the School Board's annual budget process, present an annual written report.
- assist in educating the staff and community of the budget development process and the budget contents.
