About Cherry Valley Elementary
Welcome to Cherry Valley Elementary, Home of the Cheetahs! Cherry Valley is a K-5th grade school of 500+ students and 55 staff members, including a full-time Music teacher, a full-time Health & Fitness teacher, a full-time librarian, a half-time Counselor, and 2 full-time Resource Room teachers.
Cherry Valley Elementary is located in the City of Duvall, Washington, overlooking the Snoqualmie Valley and Mt. Baker. The current building was constructed in 1957 and has undergone three additional phases of construction, with the latest being a modernization project completed in 1997.
Cherry Valley provides a variety of learning opportunities for students. Presently, the following educational programs are available: All-Day Kindergarten, Half-Day Kindergarten, Learning Assistance program in Reading (LAP), Special Education Services, Program for the Academically Talented (PAT), before- and after-school Cheetah Club Day Care Services, 5th Grade Outdoor Education Program, and English Language Learner Services (ELL).
In addition, we offer a number of extra curricular and intramural programs including band, choir, PE Challenge, Jump Rope, and Cheetah Track Runners. The Cherry Valley PTA also offers a menu of After School Activities including karate, photography, sculpting, scrap-booking, and Japanese.
Our common goal is that Cherry Valley is a warm, welcoming and child-focused school where everyone is valued and respected. There is always a place for families and the broader community to invest time, energy and talents on the behalf of all our children. We invite you to join us in our efforts to make Cherry Valley Elementary the very best it can be!
Mission
"Students at Cherry Valley Elementary will learn and grow to their highest potential in a safe, cooperative, and productive learning environment."
At Cherry Valley Elementary, our focus is first and foremost on students. We work together with parents and community to provide an environment that will maximize the potential of each and every child.
Collaborative Planning Time (CPT) half-days were woven into the school calendar and provided time for teachers to work, plan, and learn together. We made great strides in both areas of focus as we developed grade level writing prompts, shared instructional strategies related to our new math curriculum adoption, developed common area expectations for student behavior, coordinated our building safety plan with the overall district plan, and engaged in many, many more activities.

Facility Information
Cherry Valley Elementary is an integral part of the Duvall community. The building is used, after school hours, on a regular basis by a number of community and civic groups.
The building was originally opened in 1957 with additions in the mid-70s and mid-80s. The upcoming remodel includes updating the 1980 and 1989 Cherry Valley additions along with new construction of a lunchroom and kitchen and improvements to the parking lot and campus access.
PTA
Cherry Valley is especially strengthened through its relationship with the Cherry Valley PTA. Each year, our active PTA organizes and coordinates hundreds of volunteer hours for activities such as vision and hearing screenings, Make a Difference Day, school pictures, the Back to School Bash, bingo and skate nights, the Cheetah Walk, and the Art Docent program. Cherry Valley PTA has an annual budget of more than $40,000 to support programs, projects, and additional materials that enhance the educational quality of our students, like our new playground addition and after school enrichment programs.
Please contact the school office at 425-844-4750 or the PTA to inquire about how you can get involved.
