
Technology Learning Expectations (Short Form)
Kindergarten students will
- Identify mouse, keyboard, and printer.
- Print.
- Use functions on the menu bar; File.
- Create one slide/page demonstrating use of art tools.
First grade students will
- Demonstrate responsible computer care.
- Start up and quit a program.
- Print.
- Create a class slide show.
Second-grade students will
- Start up and quit more than one program.
- Name and save a file to a folder share
- Create a small group slide show.
- Enter an URL to access an Internet site.
- Type a short story using simple editing tools.
Third-grade students will
- Create individual slide show (5 slides).
- Save and retrieve a document.
- Use "Edit" on the menu bar (Cut and Paste)
- Name and place a folder in a specific location.
- Touch type approximately 10 words per minute (WPM).
- Type a short story using any program.
- Explain different ways computer technology is used.
Fourth-grade students will
- Select a printer from a variety of printers or locations.
- Execute short-cut key commands (Save, Print, Copy, Paste, and All).
- Navigate between windows.
- Create a small group multimedia presentation using five slides.
- Touch type approximately 10 word per minute (WPM) with three errors or less using letters only.
- Understand Internet/on-line safety issues.
Fifth grade students will
- Identify peripheral hardware (scanner, digital camera).
- Use the "Find" function.
- Define Bookmarks, Browsers, WWW URLs.
- Create an individual multimedia presentation with 8 - 10 slides using links.
- Touch type approximately 15 words per minutes (WPM) with three errors or less using letters and punctuation with proper fingering.
- Explain advantages and disadvantages of using computer technology.
Sixth grade students will
- Organize files into folders by dragging into sub-folders.
- Create and present a multimedia project.
- Touch type a minimum of 20 words per minute (wpm) with three errors or less using letters and punctuation with proper fingering.
- Create a document which includes borders, a heading, and a simple graphic.
- Use a template to generate a database with three finds and five records.
- Input information in a pre-designed spreadsheet.
Seventh - Twelfth Grade students will
- Use course specific objectives in all technology course offerings
